Why the Water Fountain Analogy Doesn’t Work

This is basic and obvious, but apparently it needs to be said.

When white people don’t want black people at their water fountains, that’s the oppressor class withholding resources they control from the oppressed class.

When females don’t want males in their bathrooms, that’s the oppressed class seeking refuge from the oppressor class.

A better analogy would be white people demanding to speak at Black Expo.

Or Rachel Dolezal demanding access to a black scholarship.

Or white people being offended at Malcom X for being a separatist.

Or talking about “reverse racism.”

Or saying “all lives matter.”

All of these things have happened, and they were recognized as bullshit, as they should be.

Fahrenheit 451, Trans Activism Style

Last night we had to push through physical intimidation and lots of verbal nonsense to enter the new Vancouver Women’s Library. Anti-feminist protesters [were] asked to leave when they tried to tear down feminist posters… Police had to be called for fear of destruction of the space and the safety of library patrons inside. The protesters held signs and shouted at people entering the space. They poured wine over the books. They smoked inside when asked not to. They pulled the fire alarm. Some of them tried to bar then pushed women entering the space… Ridiculous demands were made, such as the stepping down of founding member Emily (for having volunteered at and supporting a shelter for women fleeing male violence), creation of a board of directors (must everything be Mc-incorporated?), and the removal of [over 20] books”

The books they want banned “focus on female exploitation, male supremacy, violence against women, reproductive freedom, lesbian identity, women’s health and buddhist mindfulness”:

Admission Accomplished by Jill Johnston, Against Sadomasochism by Robin R. Linden, Darlene R. Pagano, Diana E. Russell, and Susan Leigh Star, Amazon Odyssey: Collection of Writings by Ti-Grace Atkinson, Buddhism after Patriarchy by Rita M. Gross, The Female Man by Joana Russ, Female Sexual Slavery by Kathleen Barry, Feminism Unmodified by Catharine A. Mackinnon, First Buddhist Women: Poems and Stories of Awakening by Susan Murcott, Gyn/Ecology by Mary Daly, The Idea of Prostitution by Sheila Jeffreys, The Industrial Vagina: The Political Economy of the Global Sex Trade by Sheila Jeffreys, Intercourse by Andrea Dworkin, The Lesbian Heresy by Sheila Jeffreys, Nine Parts of Desire: The Hidden World of Islamic Women by Geraldine Brooks, Not a Choice, Not a Job: Exposing the Myths about Prostitution and the Global Sex Trade by Janice Raymond, Not for Sale: Feminists Resisting Prostitution and Pornography-Of Women Born by Adrienne Rich, Pornography: Men Possessing Women by Andrea Dworkin, Radical Acceptance by Tara Brach, The Sexual Liberals and the Attack on Feminism by Janice Raymond, and Women As Wombs: Reproductive Technologies and the Battle over Women’s Freedom by Janice Raymond.

Disturbing updates: a library visitor… was physically assaulted last night and prevented from entering the building by protesters who locked and barred the entrance unbeknownst to the organizers.”

We’re Not Superior to Other Creatures

From Derrick Jensen’s Deep Green Resistance interview with Mary Lou Singleton on midwifery:

“This is happening everywhere in… everything to do with women’s culture… it’s kind of being hijacked by right now by this postmodern queer theory movement of uh… there’s no such thing as a woman. There is no material reality. ‘Woman’ is what anybody says a woman is.

And I think this… obviously I’ve done a ton of thinking about this and why is it so deeply upsetting to me, and I do think that if we look at larger cultural forces there is this enormous well-funded transhumanist movement trying to completely untether humanity from our connection to the earth, from our understanding of ourselves as a living organism among other living organisms on the living system that is this planet. This movement is very frightening to me.

And I think that transgenderism falls under that umbrella of trying to completely divorce ourselves from being living creatures with a wild side to ourselves, and you know, we are here among other creatures and we’re not superior to other creatures, we’re not different from them. And the ways we’re different are the ways we shouldn’t be cultivating.” – Mary Lou Singleton

CRIMESTOPPING CRIMETHINK

“CRIMESTOP means the faculty of stopping short, as though by instinct, at the threshold of any dangerous thought. It includes the power of not grasping analogies, of failing to perceive logical errors, of misunderstanding the simplest arguments if they are inimical to Ingsoc, and of being bored or repelled by any train of thought which is capable of leading in a heretical direction.”

“How necessary it was, to free human beings from their instincts, to format and reprogram their minds so that they could overcome all their natural instincts.” – George Orwell, 1984

CRIMESTOP is not a legit thing.

I’m not required to train my brain to think:

  • Men are women
  • Straight men are lesbian women
  • The oppressor class is the oppressed class
  • Choosing not to convert children into the opposite sex is conversion therapy
  • Cutting off one’s body parts is true acceptance of oneself

The act of disbelieving these claims does not make one a bigot or an abuser. It does not call for brain reprogramming. It does not call for the invention of new words for “heretics” designed to scare people into compliance.

It isn’t even unusual.

Lost to Follow-Up/How Far Can You Follow Me?

“Medically transitioning symbolized how I felt that who and what I was wrong, not enough, and had to be totally reshaped to be made good. That I would rather become another person than be who I am, that being who I am was so unthinkable that I was split off and in denial of my actual self.”

“You thought you were doing good but you were giving me tools to hurt myself.. I can forgive you if you can face what you’ve done to me as I’ve had to face what I’ve done to myself. I’ll feel more at peace if I can see doubts rise across your face, if you have the strength to consider that I may not be an isolated case.”

I haven’t told any of the medical providers who helped me transition that I’ve since detransitioned and accepted myself as a woman. Not the therapist who diagnosed me with gender identity disorder, not the doctors or nurse practitioners who prescribed me testosterone and took my blood for testing. I haven’t contacted any of these women (all the providers I saw happened to be female) and told them what became of me.

I wouldn’t bother telling them about my detransition without telling them why I transitioned and how it was a kind of self-destructive coping mechanism. The thought of telling my old providers about how transitioning hurt me is intimidating, overwhelming. I’d be making myself very vulnerable and I don’t trust doctors to begin with, not even the nice ones. Why would it be easy to tell those who prescribed me testosterone that doing so helped me hurt myself? Why would…

Lupron and Breaking Children

Lupron is one of the drugs used to delay puberty in kids with gender dysphoria.

In an article released today, adults who were prescribed Lupron as kids describe it as “being experimented on” as kids and now report:

  • Deteriorated jaw joint
  • Degenerative disc disease
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Cracked, damaged teeth
  • Brittle bones and joints
  • Osteopenia
  • Osteoporosis
  • Cracked spine
  • “Excruciating” muscle and bone pain
  • Moderate to life-threatening depression and suicidal thoughts
  • Weakness
  • Fatigue
  • Seizures

According to the article, these side effects have always been “well-documented in adults.”

Is this enough? Does anyone care about this?

Maybe, just maybe, can a grown man who wants boobs consider just owning that shit and living his grown-up life with his boobs, without feeling that to justify that he must also advocate for an ideology that literally breaks the bones of children?

80% desist.
